This is me! I'm Sherry Winchell:)
I hope that my website gives you a little insight on who I am, what my goals are, and why I am ready and excited to persue a professional career in dietetics!
A little bit of background information about myself: I am 28 years old and I was born and raised in Havre, Montana. My mother received her nursing degree from MSU-Northern, and my father is an engineer for the Burlington Northern-Sante Fe railroad. Ever since I was a child, I have always loved the outdoors! In the winter, you could always find me building snowmen or waddling down the street in my winter gear with my two sisters, my dog and my sled. In the spring and summer, I thoroughly enjoyed catching frogs and gardner snakes, riding my bike, hiking, and playing hide-and-go-seek with my neighborhood friends. I also participated in the girl's city softball league up until I reached high school, where I discovered my love for running and snowboarding. I ran on the track team and cross country team all four years of high school, and I have been an avid snowboarder since I was 15 years old. These activities have stayed with me throughout the years, and to this day my favorite past times include running in road races and snowboarding at Bridger Bowl in the winter.
However, let's not forget about food!!! I love all aspects of food: gardening, preparing, cooking, and (of course) eating. My father loves to cook, and I appreciate that my parents value sitting at the table as a family to enjoy each meal. When I was a child, I never really thought about it, but now I realize that a majority of my healthy eating habits are a direct result of my upbringing, and for that I am extremely grateful! Someday when I have a family of my own, I will definitely carry on the tradition of family fellowship around the dinner table.
Anyways, that pretty much sums up my hobbies; everything else lies ahead! I hope you enjoy my portfolio, and have a wonderful day:)
